Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae) 16.67%
Mu Dan Pi (Cortex Moutan) 16.67%
Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) 11.11%
Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) 11.11%
Fu Ling (Poria cocos) 11.11%
Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) 11.11%
Chai Hu (Radix Bupleuri) 11.11%
Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) 8.89%
Bo He (Herba Menthae) 2.22%
Action and Indication: This formula disperses the depressed Liver-Qi,
removes heat, strengthens the Spleen, and nourishes the Blood. It is
used for stagnation of the Liver-Qi, deficiency of Blood, Liver and Spleen
Disharmony. The symptoms are: distension and pain in the
hypochondriac regions, dizziness, lassitude, poor appetite, irregular
menstruation; premenstrual syndrome, hot flushes during menopause,
early period, bitter taste in mouth, tight chest. Recent studies indicate
that Liver-Qi congestion is related to the overfunction of the sympathetic
nervous system, and this formula can balance the situation.
